Where do I start? 

Talk to your managers and workmates about what can be done to reduce waste. Is everyone at your workplace up-to-speed with why you need to reduce waste? Do you know what waste is costing your business?

Cut consumption

Figure out ways to avoid creating waste in the first place. Do you need to print that document? Does everything have to be put in a separate bag? Can we achieve the same result with less material?

Purchase wisely 

• Establish a purchasing policy that favours environmentally-preferred products and supplies, such as energy-saving equipment, recycled toner cartridges or recycled-content office paper and stationery.
• Find out about sustainable purchasing and use of office products.
• Ask your suppliers what recycled-content materials are available, or change to a supplier that can source them.
• Find out more about recycled office paper, and request samples to test on your equipment to decide which performs best.
